Often when I’m interacting with another interventionist, I think about whether they’re someone I’d hire to work with a family member of my own, as my bar is high as it relates to professionalism, integrity, morals and ethics, depth of knowledge, experience, skill set, intentions, and organization. You do not need to know whether your family needs intervention, coaching, treatment navigation, or long-term support before reaching out. That is part of the work.
